With an increase in wellness industry popularity, many products are being created to make the user’s life infinitely easier. The wellness industry has grown quickly with a market increase of 12.8% from 2015 to 2017. However, many app-based solutions create performance tracking devices rather than a tool for self-betterment.
Morningo was developed with the goal of making a seamless all-in-one platform targeted
at the morning flow. The application was designed following the research of multiple
productivity experts and their morning routines. Users can wake up to meditate, set
long-term goals, and fill in gratitude-related prompts in one platform. Additionally,
the gratitude journal includes Jim Kwik’s “One Billion Dollar Morning”
to-be and to-feel lists.
To address security concerns, the application is built without an accounts system.
The app depends on local storage for any logs, settings, and bookmarks.
This implementation additionally supports the laid-back approach to self-betterment,
as users will not depend on the app for storing their progress (i.e. in the case
they switch phones and must delete the app). This way the progress is happening
within the user through the app instead of the user depending completely on the app.
Morningo was designed with the sleepy user in mind. Since the app is meant to be used in the morning, I wanted the least amount of touchpoints possible.
