iPhone Website Redesign
Hackathon - Solo work

This challenge was given during the Google Students Women in Tech Conference. The goal was to analyze Apple’s iPhone website and redesign it with a focus on the elderly.
Based on the given challenge, I was able to conduct thorough research on the current issues older adults are facing.
The pain points of older adults were present on the original iPhone website. The site features links and butttons that are too small, a lack of contrast, and uses multiple split screens. To combat these issues, I concentrated on limiting distractions and focusing on the website's goal: selling the iPhone.
Though the challenge specified the focus was not maintaining the original Apple branding,
I aimed to make my design as similar as possible. I found that Apple’s website was not
entirely inaccessible, but there was room for improvement.
Though they labelled their icons and used visual cues, there were inconsistencies in their
links. There was also a large amount of static content when displaying information (e.g.
their phone comparisons). A user would have to scroll through the listed specs before
seeing the small ‘Buy’ button. I opted to provide more contrast and develop a sense of
hierarchy.
This process has introduced me to a new realm of accessibility and design considerations
I will be employing in the future.
